Range Management
University of Nairobi
Piranto is from the Laikipia drylands of Kenya, one of the most remote areas of the country. He counts himself lucky to have had a University education. He graduated from Africa Nazarene University in Kenya with a BSc in Dryland Natural Resource Management. This was an eye opener for him and he was motivated to join the University of Nairobi where he is currently pursuing an MSc in Range Management. Rangelands/drylands is a topic close to his heart since he not only understands the challenges facing the rangelands residents but he has lived it.
He has been a mentor since secondary school, and was invited by African Nazarene University’s Vice Chancellor to give a talk on leadership. He believes the Nile Fellows Program will enable him to hone his skills on leadership and on environmental matters. He also loves cooking.
