Big Ideas Class Visit: “The role of musicians in social movements: A perspective from Nile Project artists”
Faculty: Cecilia Lucas/Tamara Roberts

Cecilia Lucas of International and Area Studies/Global Poverty and Practice and Tamara Roberts of the Music Department have developed a course around the intersections between aesthetic practice and social change, exemplified by The Nile Project. Students will engage theoretical debates and historical analyses of the arts in social change and examine the particular capacities of the arts to negotiate across and between cultures.
