Alsarah is a singer, songwriter and ethnomusicologist.  Born in the capital city of Khartoum, she spent four years at Wesleyan University studying Music with a concentration in ethnomusicology.  Residing in Brooklyn, NY, she performs music from different parts of the Middle East and East Africa. Most recently, her song with the Nile Project, “Salam Nubia” was placed on Songlines Magazine’s “Top of the World” annual CD.
